The Buddhist Monks walk for peace from Texas to Washington and they are still on the move!
Peace is so much more important than I think we can even fathom. Which means this walk for peace is all the more important.
What does Peace mean to you? Peace in the world; in your home; in your community?
The monks’ walk for peace is an act of love for humanity and an example of a group determined to encouragement the world find peace.
But how; where? This brings us back to that word peace. Do you wake up peaceful? Or are you like me and hit the ground thinking about what you need to do and what’s next and yesterday.. and about a million other things?
I am willing to bet that most of us do not wake up like Cinderella singing with birds grabbing our robes. How can you in these days? You have bills to pay, family, pets, cars and a million other things to do…and the thoughts go on and on..
So, where is the peace in you?
No, this is not a “you need to meditate” article. This is a “shut up for just one second” article.
What I mean is: I don’t care what time of day it is, where you are or who is around you. You do not need a meditation class; or a special time of day; or special sitting position. Just stop all that crap- it’s forced and against YOUR unique connection.. at least in the beginning. Let’s face it- I’m going to drop a cold hard truth about peace of mind in 2026…
If you can get 2-5 seconds of just no thoughts and just breath and being- you will have done more for yourself and more for the world than you can even know. You can literally do this anywhere. That moment of peace not only helps you, it literally helps the environment interacting with your energetic field and ripples out.
So, don’t wait to take a moment- it’s literally 2-5 seconds.
There is no right way to do this- it must be your unique way. Focus on what helps you best quiet your mind like music, swaying, breathing… find your way. You are a unique piece of the whole of humanity, unique in look and personality- so, of course your way to connect to that peace is unique to you!
The point is the monks’ walk for peace is important because they are doing their part in their human journey to help- as they walk from Texas to Washington which can be tracked in the Walk for Peace Live Map. However, it is not their job to do the work alone, so we have to also help in this. Take a moment find your inner peace even if for just a moment.
I gotta say Micheal Jackson said it starts with the man in the mirror…and he wasn’t wrong. Healing yourself helps heals the whole of humanity!
